Built On Real Field Experience
WakeTrace was founded by professionals who have spent their careers investigating boating accidents—not simply reviewing them after the fact. Our team includes active and retired marine law enforcement officers, certified accident reconstruction specialists, digital forensic examiners, and a former Mercury Marine engineer with decades of product testing and failure analysis experience.
Together, our specialists have investigated everything from recreational boating accidents and jet ski collisions to tubing accidents, propeller injuries, vessel defects, and complex marine fatalities.
Beyond casework, WakeTrace's experts actively train marine investigators across the country. Members of our team serve as instructors for boating incident investigation and reconstruction courses, present at national conferences, and contribute to collaborative training efforts with NASBLA and the U.S. Coast Guard, including the development and execution of staged boating crashes used for research and professional training.

This combination of field experience, technical expertise, and courtroom knowledge allows WakeTrace to deliver opinions that are independent, evidence-based, and built to withstand scrutiny.
